Last year, we installed solar on the roof of The Little Potato Company’s brand new 240,000 square foot packaging facility in Nisku, Alberta. This is a highlight reel project, not just for Inferno Solar and The Little Potato Company, but for the Western Canadian solar industry as a whole.
This video shows the size and scope of this project: hundreds of metres of racking, solar panels, and inverters, all carefully coordinated with the rooftop equipment that makes this facility hum.
This array:
-Is our largest project to date
-Has a solar generating capacity of 1500 kWDC/1,600,000+ kWh/year
-Accounts for more than 25% of The Little Potato Companies annual electricity needs
-Is the 5th largest rooftop solar project in Western Canada
-Is the 2nd largest privately funded rooftop solar project in Western Canada
As a bonus, any excess power this array generates will be exported to the grid. These exports often coincide with high priced hours in the electricity market, earning The Little Potato Company microgeneration credits as another revenue stream.
We were very proud to be responsible for a project of this size and importance.
Congratulations to The Little Potato Company on their new solar energy system. Also a sincere thank you to York Realty for their innovative Solar Lease Program which made this project a reality. Also a special thanks to Emissions Reduction Alberta for their funding of this project through the Comprehensive Energy Savings program, and to Cameron Development Corporation for your continued collaboration with us.

Week 1
We are proud to have completed this project with The Little Potato Company. This solar array on The Little Potato Company’s building, Monarch 5, was Inferno Solar’s largest project to date. But the highlights don’t stop there: The Little Potato Company’s array is the 5th largest rooftop solar project in Western Canada, and the 2nd largest privately funded solar project in Western Canada!

Project complete.
Congratulations to The Little Potato Company on their new solar energy system. Solar will account for more than one fourth of their energy needs, and any excess power can be exported to the grid during high priced hours, adding another revenue stream to their already thriving business through microgeneration credits.
